Smart Cities and Communities

The European Innovation Partnership on Smart Cities and Communities (EIP-SCC) brings together cities, industry and citizens to improve urban life through more sustainable integrated solutions. This includes applied innovation, better planning, higher energy efficiency, better transport solutions, intelligent use of Information and ICT, etc.

EIT ICT Labs - Urban Life and Mobility

EIT ICT Labs is one of the first Knowledge and Innovation Communities set up by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, as an initiative of the European Union. EIT ICT Labs’ mission is to drive European leadership in ICT innovation for economic growth and quality of life.

Amitran aims to develop Information Communication Technologies (ICT) that support more efficient (multimodal) goods transport and passenger mobility, thus reducing CO2 emissions in transportation, by setting a framework for the evaluation of the effect of ICT in the energy efficiency of the transport system.

MOLECULES will test urban and inter-urban pre-trip and on-trip planning and optimization based on the energy use and charging of electric vehicles, as well as vehicle to grid connectivity. Car-sharing schemes for electric vehicles and seamless integration with other modes of transport will also be demonstrated.

MOVESMART aims at providing time-dependent route planning and renewable personal mobility services using a set of crowd-sourcing tools for collecting real-time information by multimodal travellers.

The main goal of the MoveUS project is to design, implement, pilot, evaluate, disseminate and exploit a number of novel ICT tools for smart mobility in the context of smart cities, directly addressing real users’ needs while promoting a habit-change in their daily lives.

The MyWay project will investigate, develop and validate an integrated platform, the European Smart Mobility Resource Manager, including cloud-based services and facilities to support community supplied information collection and processing.
